Want to develop your skills for a leadership role in General Practice - then apply to become our Leadership Fellow
Wakefield General Practice Workforce Development Academy is the driving
force in Wakefield behind workforce education/training and workforce
transformation.
We have been successful in obtaining funding for a Leadership Fellow. The
funding has come as part of Health Educations Yorkshire and Humber ‘Future
Leaders Programme’. It offers opportunities for staff to do a one year
Leadership Fellowship to help grow and develop their personal leadership
skills.
Leadership Fellows meet regularly and also organise their own annual
Future Leaders Conference. Fellows also have access to a variety of development
opportunities e.g. Myers Briggs Type Indicator feedback, 360 appraisal,
coaching, participation in an Action Learning Set, project planning teaching,
presentation skills workshops.
This is the third fellow we have had and we are skilled at providing
support and supervision for Leadership Fellows.
The leadership fellow will be employed by the Wakefield General Practice
Workforce Academy and will be supported
throughout their fellowship year to undertake project(s) on behalf of the
Academy in relation to Workforce Strategy and Planning. The overall aim of this
work stream is to identify, analyse and predict the future workforce
requirements for General Practice.
The objectives of the leadership fellow are:
- To develop own leadership skills and experience undertaking a lead role within the Academy and leading on workforce related projects
- To take a lead role in developing and/or launching workforce activity data collection and modelling, including evaluating current workforce data collection and/or modelling tools
- To be instrumental in ensuring multidisciplinary roles are an integral to general practice in Wakefield, using workforce activity planning data, evaluating of current roles (PA pilot) and identifying new roles
- To be instrumental in the aims of Workforce planning being integrated and complimentary to the system wide workforce planning
- To undertake a lead role on behalf of the Academy representing the Academy's aims and ambitions, working closely with partners
This role is suitable for ANP’s, nurse or trainee doctors in ST3/GP or
ST2 and is paid as Band 7/8a.
If you are interested in developing a Leadership role in General
Practice this is a great job for you. If you are a GP and either on a Training
Rotation or about to finish in August and not sure what to do - this is a great
way to find out if you are interested in leadership development.
